"What happens early in life forms our abilities in how we deal with stress, trauma, and relationship, not only in our early childhood development, but throughout our lives into adulthood. Early deep responses develop while we are pre-verbal. If the experiences are traumatic then much of the work in resolving this trauma must also be done at the preverbal “feeling body” level. Somatic processes are necessary for resolving deep set patterning in our nervous system. Trauma is curable, unfreezing past negative experiences and beliefs is possible." I am not aware of where I gleaned the above statement, and, I believe it is important for the people in the Anxiety Support Group to learn to calm not only their anxiety/mind, but to also calm their body. So we work, each week, to help people 'learn' to calm the body. Music. Guided meditations. I have several quiet, guided meditations recorded on my website: www.zoewaggoner.com/what-do-you-need.html I share articles and each week resources of many kinds: music, podcasts, books, and weighted blankets are some of the resources. We also play and talk, share and support each other while doing exercises and fidgeting with lots of tactile small toys and clay I set out each night. Change is possible. People who have been in the class are reporting good results. Sign up soon so you have a place! www.zoewaggoner.com/healing-community.html
