Yes. More easily said than done. How many times have you found yourself at a place where you did not see/could not see the way forward? Any way to move?
I mention this on the first page of my website: how we can get 'stuck' and just don't know what to do. We might get depressed, beat ourselves up, blame other people....anything to make the pain of being 'stuck' go away. Distractions: computer, phone, games, shopping, sex, food...oh yes, food.
You get the point. I have been there. In big ways and small ways. Part of my learning this time around is about trust...knowing at a deep level that I will find a way. Something will change. It always does.
So next time you find yourself stuck, what can you do to help yourself?
Call a good, trusted friend who is honest with you
Listen...listen to what the friend has to say
Breathe...and again...and again...
Make a gratitude list: 10 things you are REALLY grateful for EACH day
Take a walk - get outside!
Maybe do some mind-mapping, laying out in random fashion ALL the possibilities, using your creativity to 'play' with the possibilities
Listen to some music you really love...do a few little dance steps
Take uber good care of you: baths, good food, play time, alone time...journaling, drawing, take a class...get involved in volunteer work. Giving back to others helps us take our minds and focus off of ourselves
Try these different ideas in any order that makes sense to you. And if you continue to feel 'stuck' and find yourself getting more and more mired in that stuckness, call/text me: 360-432-1236. I can help.
