I really like this quote because I do believe that learning about myself - not what I like to eat or do, or hobbies - but the deeper parts of me, is going to go on forever.
I used to think that when I 'knew' myself, I would be done. Fini. Complete as a person.
So it was a huge disappointment when I realized that learning about me, discovering 'me' was going to go on a long time. I wanted to be 'finished'. Whatever that meant to me at the time!
I can look back now, at the age of 70, and see those times when I learned things I never knew: in my 40's traveling overseas, starting a master's program, training trainers.
At 50 paying attention to a dream I had about 'choking a younger me', choking the dreams I had as a young 20 year old. And then applying to the Peace Corps and going to Belize, CA, at almost 51.
Starting a full-time counseling and hypnotherapy practice in my 60's. Doing two Vision Quests in my 60's. Doing a fire walk in my 60's.
An endless river. Yes.
