You might be wondering why this seaplane? When I was six my family was transferred to Hawaii. My Dad was in the Navy and this is the kind of seaplane we flew on - summer 1954 or 1955. I can remember vividly walking out on a long dock, seeing the Golden Gate Bridge overhead and seeing this huge plane. A plane on the water?
The flight was long and arduous. I got sick. Mom was not happy. My Dad was with us but I do not remember him except to see the pictures when we arrived in Honolulu, at the base.
Seeing this picture brings me pleasure. At that time in my life my family was intact and who does not want to live in Hawaii?
