How do we get to know our own darkness? Those places inside that are scary, that we often try to ignore. We use technology, food, sex, shopping, working out to NOT deal with the feelings that come up when we begin to get close to our own darkness.
And yet it comes out in passive aggressive behaviors, snideness, cruelty, indifference. In physical dis-ease that seems unexplainable. In 'shadow' behaviors that always seem to just 'come up'. Almost as if we have no control.
Often these behaviors can ruin relationships, get in the way of connecting with others. Not succeeding at what we desire. Keep us hidden and in the darkness of our lives.
So how do you work with the darkness? Well, for me, using hypnotherapy with my clients - and when I do my own internal work - is a gentle and effective way to drop below the conscious mind and into the subconscious where the original 'reasons' for the darkness can be found. Found and healed. Yes, healed. We do not need to dwell continuously in darkness.
