Many people grow up without knowing how to have fun. They may live in circumstances that do not promote fun, promote being a child, even. Many people don't see their parents or caretakers having fun...good, healthy, childlike fun.
For me, growing up, my Mom had 'fun' only when she was drinking. I cannot remember my Mom ever being very playful or carefree. She did have hardship, that is true. And yet she left behind any remnants of her 'child' and refused to 'look silly', in her opinion. So learning how to be childlike, having wonder and mystery, silliness and play is important to each of us as we grow and mature. What do you call fun? What do you look like, or feel like, when you are being 'childlike'? zenhabits.net/how-to-be-childlike/
