Can you calm yourself? Increasingly from clients the answer is NO. People are just not able to calm themselves and stay calm.
I always think it is important to talk about the body in fight/flight mode aka: anxiety. Our bodies evolved to be able to fight or flee. And then evolved to have a pre-frontal cortex and be able to think. But in order to be able to THINK...we must move from high fight/flight into self-regulation, calm. At least somewhat calm.
