I work with many clients suffering from anxiety. Anxiety that takes over, stops them from doing in their lives what they would like to do...keeps them from having the kind of relationships they would REALLY like to have. Keeps them from being intimate, calm, quiet...patient.
I started studying with Deb Dana a year ago when I read the book "The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy". Although I had been sharing with clients how the Autonomic Nervous System impacts them all the time, this was a little bit different explanation of how our bodies respond to danger: real danger, perceived danger or imagined danger.
How the body gets into the 'habit' of reacting and the mind seems to come along for the ride - a 'ride' that can be endless and frustrating as the thoughts spin and spin and spin.
So this notion of 'befriending the nervous system' is so exciting to me. Clients and I can work so that they have practical tools or skills to befriend their nervous system and begin to manage, to slow down, to put to rest the responses that no longer serve them. The responses that get in the way - literally.
If you need some help with calming, quieting...engaging, having more energy for the good things in life, call/text me at 360-432-1236. I am pretty sure I can help.
I am a catalyst for others, helping people continue, over their entire life span - preconception, conception, in the womb and after - to grow, learn, heal so that each person can live their deepest longings. This is my passion.
